I got to photograph brand new Isadora a few weeks ago and what a little bundle she is! I absolutely love photographing in clients homes because it makes it very intimate and very personal. Both images were shot on Hasselblad with Kodak Portra 400. 

Pip

My brother, Pip, is an incredible chef. He is someone who can make an incredibly delicious, creative meal by opening up the cupboards and the fridge and making a plan on the fly. You can see the gears turn in his head as he begins to plan a meal. When I was last in New York, we had spent the day wandering around taking pictures and throughout our stroll the topic of dinner came up. We went into a market and looked around for awhile and then he said, "I think I'll make pasta." A few hours later we were back at his apartment watching him make it. There is nothing I love more than watching people do what they love and Pip most definitely loves to cook. 

I shot this on Contax 645 with 400 Tri-X film.

I photographed Jaime and Brendan's wedding two years ago. They had an incredible wedding at The Basilica in St. Paul and The Cedarhurst Mansion. They asked me to photograph their daughter, Elise, over the holidays, and I couldn't have been more excited! This little girl is SO cute! I just love staying connected with clients over the years and seeing how their families grow.

The Brown Family

My approach to family sessions is simple : to keep it fun and genuine. I ask my families what they love to do together and we use that as inspiration for the session. Kids feel comfortable when they can just play and be themselves and not just sit still and say "cheese". I love capturing those real moments of love within a family, when you're running around in the hard, hugging, joking around...and my favorite is to shoot in the home of the family because it provides the personal elements that are key to great photographs. I love getting to watch these boys grow up and am already looking forward to their next session!

Eleni : 2 years

This little girl was SO cute! We played at Minnehaha Falls together for her 2 year session. I met her a year ago and it's so much fun to see how she has changed! We found a caterpillar on my camera that she was fascinated by...after awhile she was finding them on the trees and saying "caterrrpllir"- it was too cute for words! I can't wait to meet the next addition to this family!
