Photojournalism

I just listening to this story on the New York Times website. They do a series called "One in 8 Million" about individual stories in New York.
They are always moving and this story about Ms. Smith, from Liberia and lives in Queens, opens her home up to friends to share
her traditional Liberian cooking. The money that she makes she splits and sends some to an elementary school in her home country and
the rest goes towards buying more food to continue cooking. I found it so interesting when she said she doesn't know how to cook for just
herself, since she came from a large family and it's part of the Liberian culture to share.

The photography by Todd Heisler included in this story is so beautiful and rich. Photojournalism at it's best. Enjoy!

Tara & Brad: Married 9.12.09

Tara and Brad had such a lovely wedding. I felt like I was with friends the entire time. Their ceremony was at Redeemer Lutheran Church in St. Paul and the reception was at Town and Country Club right on the Mississippi River. Tara and Brad are so deeply in love and so gracious. The entire day was relaxed and fun, just how they wanted it to be. The best man gave one of the most heartfelt speeches I have ever heard-and of course I teared up a little! I know these two are going to continue to have a beautiful, love-filled life together. I feel so grateful to have met them and to have photographed their wedding.

Jenni & Jason: Married 8.22.09

Jenni and Jason were married in Oconomowoc, WI, my hometown! Jenni loves pink, so she decided to have a pink and green inspired wedding, which was so much fun. The candy table at the reception was nearly empty by the time I got there! The day was gorgeous and we had a lot of fun going to different locations taking photos. Congratulations, you two!
